Exploring the NSC SIF Prevention Model: Tools for Reduction 

This interactive workshop will dive into the National Safety Council (NSC) Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIF) Prevention model, a framework designed to identify and mitigate high-risk activities in the workplace. Participants will explore key tools within the model, including risk assessment strategies, proactive safety metrics, and incident investigation techniques focused on SIF potential. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, and gain insights on implementing the NSC SIF prevention strategies in their own EHS programs.

Solving MSD Issues: A Collective Hackathon Experience 

Manual material handling (MMH) activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling are prevalent across various industries. Despite known hazards associated with these risk factors, many workplaces still lack effective strategies for assessing and mitigating these hazards.  
 
The MSD Solutions Lab Hackathon will bring together diverse safety and health leaders to brainstorm and develop creative solutions specific musculoskeletal disorder issues in the workplace. The Hackathon promises to be a thought-provoking experience and a platform for innovation, collaboration and learning. 
 
Participants will work together to develop practical and innovative ergonomic solutions across various industries where manual material handling is pervasive.
